Electronic Chinese Document Sub-Committee

  • To promote the development and utilization of databases of digital Chinese documents (DDCD), this committee has focused on the following six directions:
  • To enhance the collaboration between people who are in charge of developing the DDCD serving in different institutions.
  • To establish an information center for people to exchange experience, technology and information, and to avoid the duplication of efforts to develop the DDCD.
  • To promote the standardization in the DDCD, including standardizing the structure of the databases, the ways of handling missing characters, the markup system, and the management of data entry jobs.
  • To offer assistance to improve the quality of the DDCD.
  • To offer assistance to resolve difficulties in the access and utilization of the DDCD.
  • To encourage institutions and individuals to participate in the development and utilization of the DDCD.
