PNC 2005 Annual Conference in Conjunction with PRDLA, ECAI

PNC 2005 Annual Conference, in conjunction with PRDLA and ECAI, will be held at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, in Honolulu, Hawaii from October 31 to November 3. The PRDLA Meeting will be held on October 31. The PNC Annual Conference will be held from November 1 to November 3.
Each organization -- PNC (Pacific Neighborhood Consortium), PRDLA (Pacific Rim Digital Library Association), ECAI (Electronic Cultural Atlas Initiative) -- will offer its perspective and expertise on the issues of digital collection and digital libraries in the global community. Librarians, scholars, museum professionals, educators, site managers, and those working with cultural materials and technology may have an interest in this conference.
The main theme this year is "eCulture and Intellectual Property in the Global Community." The session formats of the PNC 2005 Annual Conference consists of oral presentations and poster/computer demonstrations covering various domains such as: content management, digital archives, digital collections (scientific and cultural), academic digital libraries, national and commercial digital libraries, digital museums, e-Learning, e-Publishing, gazetteers, geographical information system (GIS), intellectual property issues, international digital project collaboration, metadata, and technical standards and interoperability.
Panel sessions offer presentations on such issues as digital libraries, grid technology applied to data, multimedia representations of culture, intellectual property applied to digital publication, and many other issues. Poster sessions and computer demonstrations offer opportunities to showcase new work and interact with creative scholars and technicians exploring the possibilities of technology.
